Background:
In November 2021, Coca-Cola China, MUJI China, and Beijing Contemporary Art Foundation jointly launched the "Amazing Bottle" recycled material design soliciting campaign, with strong support from dozens of cooperative institutions including e-commerce, media, and academic institutions, focusing on the design and application of recycled materials.
We worked as a team in four group members from Northeastern University, Experience Design Program. We try to talk with people around the world through design to explore the process of creation and feel the power of design. Observe and feel the world from different perspectives and apply them to our design.
How Might We
How might we support residents in converting their abandoned Coca-Cola bottles, and promoting recycling and environmental awareness.
Research

Our Purpose
Every day, a large number of plastic bottles are discarded. We created a green bottle recycling device to collect discarded plastic bottles and repurpose them. This device assists residents in disposing of used plastic bottles by converting them into potted plants.
Residents can turn plastic bottles into potted plants by following a simple guideline. When the plant matures, it will filter pollutants from the air. Residents may also take their fully grown plants for personal use.
As a result, the abandoned plastic bottle will be recycled, and the city will receive a green feedback reward. We hope that by doing so, we can raise residents' awareness of recycling and environmental issues.
